Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Texas

Loss of personal belongings.

If I could give this company zero I would. I'm sure any good reviews are written by the owner herself. I will try to be brief as it is a very long And detailed. First of all don't be surprised when the movers show up and somehow, another $800 is added to your bill. Delta moved me from Massachusetts to Texas and this is by far, the worst company I have ever dealt with. They lost many of my belongings such as an end table, snowboard and all the snow gear. They broke several pieces of my furniture such as tables and lamps in lost several bins including my kitchen appliances! When I called the owner Deborah, she was extremely rude and unsympathetic and refused to rectify the situation. I have gotten in touch with the Better Business Bureau who has found her to be less than cooperative, since she offered me $125 dollars. Are you kidding me ?? They informed me to contact the Federal motor carrier and safety administration and file a complaint with them which I have. I am not going to Drop this and if I have to take this to civil court then I will. if anybody has any complaints with this company I would advise you do to contact the Better Business Bureau I feel bad leak for anyone who has used this deceitful horrible company.

Long-distance move from Georgia to New York

My Move.

I just got my delivery in NY from Delta Relocation. They moved me up from Georgia. I was down there for work and it feels great to be back home. And they couldn't have made it any easier. I was picked up by Leon and Anthony. They started a little late because there last delivery took a little longer. It was fine by me because they sure made up with it in efficiency. Got my items 2 days later. They drove straight to the city. Actually got there a little before I did. They did the unload super fast. Faster than the load even. Everything was in great condition, or at least the same condition lol. Couldn't ask for more. I've recommend them to 2 of my friend so far. They were moving locally but they were all just as happy.

Long-distance move from Rhode Island to North Carolina

Nightmare Experience.

Worst experience in my life. Quoted $1200 but paid $1850. The amount of items moved was the exact number of items reported to the sales representative, Brandon. My belonging were delivered in a timely fashion, but some items DESTROYED! Delivery driver was rude, when I threatened to call his boss he said he would charge me double. When I advised Brandon of this, there was "nothing they could do because I should have called when the driver told me that" (on Easter Sunday, when no one was available).

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Georgia

Awesome Company.

I was supe scared to deal with a moving company, but wow I must say it all worked out better than I could have hoped for. My sales representative, Brandon took care of me the whole way through. I spoke to him for 3 week before I decided to book. He stood with me the whole way through. He assured me that he would send excellent movers that would take care of everything for me. The price actually dropped because I ended up having less items than I originally had told them. They were able to deliver my belongings on the exact day I asked them to. All I can say is wow, a superb experience for my wife and I.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to New Jersey

Move.

I used Delta Relo to move me from Boston back to New Jersey. I've heard of the horrors in moving, actually I've felt them before. I requested a visual estimate. Delta said their office is based in New Jersey, but they have trucks in MA every day. They were happy to send over a senior driver to do an estimate. We were given a binding price. It wasn't the lowest but we were comfortable with it. They even agreed to have the same driver that gave the estimate be the move manger the pickup day. The move went smoothly. We we're picked up in 5 hours which is quicker than expected. The drive to NJ isn't short so they gave us free storage over night. Prompt delivery the next morning. No damages. No up sell. Couldn't ask for more. Since the move I've had two family members use them with the same results.

Long-distance move from Delaware to New Jersey

Stay away..

We have recently used Delta Relocation in our move from Delaware to the Jersey Shore. The moving crew was great! (Anthony and crew) To a person they were professional, kind and courteous. They were especially attentive and kind to my wife, who is disabled and was able to direct the guys of specific needs, to which they were incredibly helpful..

However, and this is a big however, the entire office staff and management staff were extremely disingenuous, deceitful and played a classic "bait and switch" game with us.
Gemma, who is the alleged "mover consultant" purposefully bid low to obtain our business. She did not send any representative to estimate the moving costs and
Cubic feet of material, instead used the estimates from other moving company bids. She was asked by my wife to come out personally to estimate the costs, but said that would not be necessary..
Gemma had also stated that the quote would include full packing and unpacking and told my wife that she will "take care of you" and my wife would "not have to lift a finger". This was important because my wife is disabled and the move itself is grueling enough..She took care of us all right..After receiving the first invoice, it was noted that the packing cost was an additional 1k, and that she (Gemma) stated that she told my wife that already. She is very good at blaming the customer for . We did negotiate that price to be lower, but that was just the beginning..
On moving day the crew arrived at our house prepared for a much smaller place, a 4 room apt as per Gemma, even though we specified to her specifically, that we had a house, not an apartment. She stated that little detail was basically unimportant and did not revise it by the time the guys came and never even informed the moving crew!! She had almost an entire year to change it, but for some reason only known to her, she never did. The guys came with much smaller trucks than were needed and did a great job of cramming everything in, with only a few instances of minor damage.
We were then informed that we had to come up with an additional 4000k to move additional stuff!! We were able to get that price down when we told Anthony of our membership in AARP and my wife's disability status. Still, we had to come up with an additional $2250 in cash, in order to complete the move..We were stuck and had to move this week as planned. Gemma stated that we could use a credit card, certified check or money order, Michael the owner refused, and then when called on it, Gemma blatantly lied that she stated that she never said that.
We tried to speak to Michael, the owner on multiple occasions, but he refused, for who knows what reason. We called Yvette at customer service, who said that she would call back after speaking to someone and never did even after I left repeated messages. She was very good at initially placating us, then like everyone else at that company (except the movers) left us high and dry. Good luck trying to get anyone on the phone at the office if anything goes wrong. Once they recognize your phone number, something must go wrong with their phone system as it no longer seems to work..Strangely enough, the phone system worked fine when we were new customers!

Gemma, who is extremely rude, uses a "customer blaming method" in a "confuse em and lose em" fashion as her go to customer service technique. She is extremely deceptive, has no semblance of customer care skills, and hung up on me and/or wife on multiple occasions while trying to get a answers as to why this happened and when I attempted to report damage to our dining room table..
By the way, the cost of unpacking was not included, surprise, surprise, and we are now left with the task of unpacking which for this week is ok, but when I go back to work next week, that will be up to my wife, who is wheelchair bound and will have to manage unpacking this mess, while I am at work.

I can't tell you how angry we are at this company.
From our experience, I would steer well clear of this Delta relocation moving company for their deceptive practices and blatant disregard for customer care, and especially Gemma for whom we have a particularly high level of disdain for how she treated us.
It's a shame, because the movers themselves were great guys. I would use them again if not for the company they worked for.

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

Couldn't ask for more.

I used Delta Relocation Movers to move me from Florida to New York. My cousin had used them in the past and had a good experience. I still did my research and got a few quotes. I was a little taken aback by their price being so low, but Gemma, my sales rep, explained since they are a North East company they can afford to go cheaper on theif return trips. Alex was my worker. He had a thick accent but seemed knowledgeable and had no issue explaining the process to me. They entire process took 8 days. I had other companies promise me 2 days but after Gemma broke down DOT hours or service policy, I realized they would say anything to get my business. Everything arrived intact. To me, the best part was it went straight to an 18 wheeler. No unload an reload in storage. I hope I never move again, but if I do. Delta will definitely be at the top of my list.

Long-distance move from Lawrence, NY to Boca Raton, FL

Worst Ever--What a Scam.

I usually don't write reviews but this needs to be heard. It's taken me a long while to sit down and write this review because I was so upset over what had transpired. It brings back very bad memories but I feel it is important for you to know what a scam this Delta Relocation is. Everything negative that other people have written is absolutely true and I cannot believe any of the few positive reviews. The entire staff including Gemma, Debra, Yvette, Jasmine and Kaisha are extremely rude, to the point of yelling at me and hanging up. Once they get you to sign up and they pick up your move, it's difficult to get in touch with them. I left over 50 messages for them because my delivery was 4 weeks late ( I had no place to stay while I waited for delivery other than my empty apt and an air mattress) and not once did they return my phone call. I even called their number once and Yvette answered " Atlantic Union" Movers. They tell you one date for delivery and then they say read the fine print on the back of the contract---they have 21 days after the original delivery date--- 21 days to them also means 21 Business days (over one month) not 3 weeks (even though they do work Saturdays and Sundays). They low ball the price and then jack it up with "extras". They under calculated my move by 1/3 (200 cu.) on my initial contract. I gave them the amount of boxes and their sizes. Listed all the furniture being moved and still they were off by 1/3 of what they calculated.
In addition, they charged $645 for the U-Haul on the delivery end. That is illegal--they are double charging as the actual movers were already calculated into the price on both ends of the move on the initial contract (The U-Haul costs under $100).
On top of this, there was a "long haul" charge of $225 upon delivery at destination for the distance between the elevator and my apt. ( how many apts are next door to the elevator?) I was not charged a "long haul" fee when they picked up my things and there was an even longer distance from the apt. to the truck. I also paid $150 for the elevators which were in the original contract.
My original quote was $1,840 (small move)--upon pick up it was changed to $2,583 and then with all of the additional costs at the delivery the move totaled $3,453--almost doubled original quote.
Last but not least, when the movers finally did show up my boxes were crushed, some partially opened and damage to the little furniture that I did move. They packed a large bedroom mirror which came in shattered. I did not take additional insurance because of the small move, however, I also did not put in a claim for the minimum allowed for the damaged items because making a claim is very difficult with all of their paperwork, receipts and requirements. I did notify them regarding all of this and a missing box and I have not heard back from them since August 2016.

I gave them a one star rating because there is no option for no stars.
Please don't put yourself through this ordeal no matter how appealing their initial price and courtesy is.

Long-distance move from New York to California

Please do not use this company.

Every review here stating that the customer was treated poorly, bullied, items were stolen, damaged, etc. is ALL true. Every single person that works at this company should be ashamed of themselves. I used to use another company that was more expensive, and in an effort to save money, chose this company. If you look them up on the BBB website, you will see that there are many complaints about them, all valid. If I can ask anything of you, it is to never use this company and just pay the additional fees for another company, this will give you piece of mind, and you will not lose sleep or money wondering where your items are, and once they do not arrive, how to ever see them again.
